Every person deserves to have access to timely healthcare. It's our mission to make it accessible to all.

Awareness about Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system). In MS, the immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) that covers nerve fibers and causes communication problems between your brain and the rest of your body.

Symptoms of MS

  • Numbness or weakness in one or more limbs that typically occurs on one side of your body at a time
  • Tingling sensation beneath the skin
  • Electric-shock sensations that occur with certain neck movements, especially bending the neck forward (Lhermitte sign)
  • Lack of coordination in arms, legs, and physical movement
  • Unsteady gait or inability to walk straight
  • Blurry vision in one or both eyes
  • Fatigue, mood disturbances (from happiness to sad within moments)
  • Slurred speech with cognitive problems to form and speak a simple sentence

Diagnosis Procedure:

  1. Consult a General Practitioner (GP) if any symptoms occur
  2. MRI scanning with Vitamin B12, Liver Function Test, Complete Blood Count, & Sugar blood test may be prescribed by the GP along with a recommendation to consult a Neurologist with reports

If you experience any symptoms, then:

  • Municipal clinic/hospital in your suburb can be consulted for GP
  • Register in Online Registration System at https://ors.gov.in/orsportal/ to book an appointment in Neurologist's OPD
  • MRI & Blood Tests can be booked at https://aarthiscans.com/
  • Visit the confirmed Neurologist appointment with reports

Awareness about Brain Hemorrhage

High blood pressure (hypertension) can cause the thin-walled arteries to rupture, releasing blood into the brain tissue.

Clotted blood and the brain's loss of access to oxygen-rich blood cause brain hemorrhage.

Symptoms of Brain Hemorrhage

  • Headache, nausea, and vomiting
  • Lethargy or confusion
  • Sudden weakness or numbness of the face, arm or leg, usually on one side
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Temporary loss of vision
  • Seizures
